What is your suggestion and how will it work?
To my current knowledge, one can simultaneously /like and /dislike a map as long as they do so during different rounds, which does not particularly make sense.

Zombie Survival
What is your suggestion and how will it work?
To my current knowledge, one can simultaneously /like and /dislike a map as long as they do so during different rounds, which does not particularly make sense.
This is a revamp that will resolve this issue and introduce additional flexibility, along with other features.
- A player may /like or /dislike a map. The player will earn 1 bb the first time they do either one.
- A player has the ability to change their like into a dislike and vice versa. The player does not receive any bbs for this. A 'spam' restriction may be placed on this, for example a maximum frequency of once a day or once a week.
- A player has the ability to withdraw their like or dislike by typing in the same command. The 'spam' restriction may also be placed on this.
- Reset the votes of the players that have liked and disliked the same map.
- (Alternatively) Instead of resetting the votes of the players that have liked and disliked the same map, reset map votes in its entirety.
- (Optional) A player's like or dislike is automatically withdrawn by the system if they have not joined the server after an extended period of time (e.g. one year).
The map author(s), if online, is/are alerted to any changes in likes or dislikes as per the current system.
What are the advantages of your suggestion?
- Some maps grow on you over time, and you may want to convert your initial dislike into a like. Similarly for maps that initially seem exciting but after a while become not enjoyable.
- If a player decides that they are neutral about a map, they will be able to withdraw their original like or dislike.
- Resetting the votes of players who have liked and disliked the same map would offer those players a fresh vote.
Additionally:
- Resetting the map in its entirety would make the like and dislike votes reflect the current popularity of the map, as many who voted in the past are no longer active.
- With an automatic withdrawal system due to inactivity, a new reset would in theory not be required in the future, ever.
What are the disadvantages of your suggestion?
- Possible coding work is required.
Resetting the map votes in its entirety would:
- dismiss past votes.
- require players to vote on all the maps again (but hey, more bbs!).
I'd be interested to hear any thoughts on this.
