New Blood Zombie Survival 1.2
The Like-Dislike Update
In this major update we're revamping how likes and dislikes work on Zombie Survival, along with introducing a few additional fun features! This update will be released in 1-2 weeks. Credits go to Panda for coding the new like-dislike system and setting up a new database for likes and dislikes, and to artania for his work on global bounties and personalised infection messages.
The Like-Dislike System
You'll now be able to change or withdraw your likes and dislikes to maps!
If you haven't voted on a map before, you can give it a /like or /dislike. You'll earn 1 BB the first time you use one of those two commands on a map. This will then be indicated at the bottom of /mi.
If you find that you changed your opinion of a map, you can withdraw your like or dislike by typing in the same command. If you want to withdraw your like, type /like. If you want to withdraw your dislike, type /dislike.
You can also switch from a like to a dislike and vice versa by typing in the other command. You won't be able to simultaneously give a map a like and a dislike.
We may modify the wording, but these screenshots give an idea of how the command work.
Reset of Likes and Dislikes
The current likes and dislikes on some maps are very outdated and include the votes of players from over 5 years ago... we'll fix this by setting these likes and dislikes to 0. To encourage you to start voting again, you'll earn 1 BB the first time you vote, even if you've voted on the map in the past!
The votes of players who haven't logged on in over 6 months will be removed. This ensures that the like-dislike ratio of a map is representative of the opinions of the current player base.
Ban All
Our resident mischievous rascal Panda thought it would be hilarious to give players the ability to ban everyone on the server. Type /banall and laugh in the chaos you've created!
Global Bounties
We've added a new parameter to bounties: /bounty all! This will allow you to place a specified number of bloodbags on every other player on the server! This number is capped at 20 BB. As per the current system, higher bounties will replace previously existing lower bounties, and will not replace previously existing even higher bounties.
Personalised Infection Messages
You can now design infection messages for specific players if you replace <human> with the name of a player, like <Subelectronite>. When you infect that player, the specific infection message will always turn up!
Outlook
We hope that the new like-dislike system will enable us to gain a more accurate representation of which maps are popular, and the maps that get polled in the future may be determined by their like-dislike ratios! The system could also lead to seasonal map rotations, where we regularly swap out the maps with the lowest like-dislike ratios for maps in the past.
