A Change to Revive
I'd like to gather thoughts on a slightly different revive system, originally proposed by Jordy with input from Arvid. I've decided to post in this board first before setting up a poll, in case anyone would like to input further changes. Afterwards I hope to poll this idea.
What area of New Blood are you suggesting this for?
Zombie Survival
What is your suggestion and how will it work?
The current revive system works as follows:
One revive potion may be used per round, in any round, and has a 50% probability of succeeding.
The new revive system will work as follows:
Every 20 minutes of time spent online gives you one additional revive potion. You must still pay bbs to use a revive potion.
A green number in the top right of the UI tells you how many revive potions you hold.
A countdown to the left of the green number (mm:ss) tells you how long you have to wait until you receive your next revive potion. When you log out, the countdown will pause. When you log in, the countdown will resume, and you will hold however many revive potions you had when you logged out.
You can hold a maximum of 3 revive potions at any one time.
Revive potions cost 10 bbs to use instead of 7 bbs.
Revive potions have a 100% success rate.
These numbers (time spent online, maximum number of potions, cost) may be tweaked.
The other aspects of the mechanic (one use per round, time constraints of use, etc.) are the same.
What are the advantages of your suggestion?
Currently, players have a 50% chance of reviving in any given round. The new system will allow players to choose wisely in which rounds they may revive, and is thus beneficial if there are particular situations in which they'd like to revive.
What are the disadvantages of your suggestion?
I hear that some players enjoy the randomness, not knowing whether the revive will work or not.
