Server Rules | Zombie Survival
You must follow these rules if you would like to play on the Zombie Survival server. Staff may hand out punishments if you break any of these rules. Please refer to the Player Punishment Structure for an idea of the punishments that may be handed out.
Rule 1 | Do not evade punishments or encourage rule-breaking.
a) Do not evade punishments.
If you are permanently banned from the Zombie Survival server, you may not log on another account to get around the ban and you should instead appeal your ban in the appropriate area of the forum. If you are temporarily banned, you should wait until your ban has been lifted. You may not complain about your ban in another area of the New Blood community. This extends to mutes. If you feel that you have been punished unfairly, you should privately message the member of staff on Discord. If your account is banned specifically for having an inappropriate name, you are allowed to log on another account if it has a legal name.
b) Do not encourage others to break rules.
You may not encourage others to break rules. This includes, but is not limited to, knowing of a player evading their ban and not alerting a member of staff, egging on a player to argue with staff, or encouraging someone to abuse a bug in-game.
c) Do not troll.
You may not troll. This includes, but is not limited to, making fake reports or fake accusations as it is a waste of time for staff.
d) Do not use a VPN or proxy without permission from an Administrator.
You may not connect to the server using a VPN or proxy, unless you have explicit permission from an Administrator to do so. The administration team reserves the right to decide who has this permission. If you cannot connect to the server otherwise, please contact an Administrator for guidance.
e) Do not impersonate others.
You may not impersonate other players. This includes, but is not limited to, using a nickname that is strongly associated with another player.
f) Do not manipulate others into giving out personal information, particularly younger members of the community.
You may not manipulate others into giving out personal information, such as name, address and phone number. You are advised to practice internet safety and avoid giving out personal information. You may not take advantage of the younger or other vulnerable members of the community.
Rule 2 | Do not spam, harass or use inappropriate language.
a) Do not excessively swear, spam or use uppercase letters.
You may swear, but not excessively. The same goes for usage of uppercase letters. You may spam in private chats, however if you are reported for it you may be punished. This extends to names and items purchasable from the in-game store. Items that breach this rule may be removed without a refund. You may not repeatedly reconnect to the server as this also causes spam for other players. Staff will decide if you are breaching this rule but a definition of excessive can be found here.
b) Do not post malicious links or video call links.
You may not post links to websites that present a security risk or that may attack, scam or fraud. This includes IP grabbing links, link shorteners, and links that appear unsafe although actually safe. You may not post video call links, such as those of Zoom, to protect the younger members of the community. This extends to private, human & zombie, and team chats.
c) Do not harass a person or group, or use discriminatory language.
You may not harass any person or group in any chat on the server, including private, human & zombie, and team chats. You may not use slurs in any context, or use language that is considered to be discriminatory. This includes, but is not limited to, being racist, xenophobic or homophobic. This extends to names, skins and items purchasable from the in-game store. Items that breach this rule may be removed without a refund, and teams disbanded.
d) Do not discuss sensitive topics or post NSFW content.
You may not discuss sensitive subjects such as, but not limited to, sexual abuse, extreme drug abuse and suicide. You may not post content that is considered inappropriate or 'not safe for work', for example content that is pornographic, violent, gruesome, or requires a trigger warning. You may not reference these topics in names, skins or items purchasable from the in-game store. Items that breach this rule may be removed without a refund. You may discuss politics and religion respectfully or casual NSFW content, however staff may intervene if the discussion gets out of hand.
e) Do not excessively influence likes or dislikes.
You may not excessively influence likes or dislikes. This includes, but is not limited to, repeatedly asking for either likes or dislikes in a round; repeatedly asking multiple players for likes or dislikes in private messages; conspiring with other players to like or dislike a map in a cooperative manner. It is acceptable to ask for both likes and dislikes as a reminder to vote. You may not like or dislike a map more than once by using alternate accounts.
Rule 3 | Do not glitch, hack or exploit bugs.
a) Do not glitch through blocks.
You may not glitch or noclip through blocks. This includes, but is not limited to, breaking a block that vanishes for a split second and using latency to enter that block.
b) Do not use hacked clients or plugins.
You may not use any modified client that sends packets to the server outside of default packets, as programmed by UnknownShadow200. The only exception is the standard CEF plugin.
c) Do not exploit bugs.
If you think that you may have encountered a bug in the game or in a map, you should report it immediately to a member of staff. Map bugs include, but are not limited to, a way that allows you to reach an unintended location. You may not exploit a bug that you know of.
d) Do not lag pillar.
In certain maps, you may notice that a block vanishes soon after you place it. The act of using these vanishing blocks to pillar is called lag pillaring. You may not lag pillar or attempt to place these vanishing blocks for any reason.
Rule 4 | Do not play unfairly.
a) Do not reconnect as the only zombie or disconnect without a reason.
You may not reconnect as the only zombie in order to auto-infect another human. You are allowed to disconnect as the only zombie as long as you offer a valid explanation why, but if you are seen elsewhere within the community, you may be punished. You should aim to be AFK rather than disconnect in such situations.
b) Do not disconnect to deny a zombie their infection.
If you are a human, you may not disconnect when a zombie is about to infect you. Other situations where this rule applies includes, but is not limited to, disconnecting after having taken the TrueBlood challenge to deny a zombie their reward. You are however allowed to disconnect after you have been infected as long as you are not the only zombie.
c) Do not reveal the locations of players that are on the same team as you.
If you are a human, you may not reveal the locations of other humans in order to lead zombies to them.
d) Do not farm currency or stats.
You may not farm the server currency or stats. This includes, but is not limited to, offering free rounds excessively or being present on more than one account simultaneously. You should earn the server currency and statistics by playing the game as intended.
e) Do not team spleef.
You may not spleef a human if you are a human, or a zombie if you are a zombie. You are allowed to spleef players only on the opposite team.
f) Do not use a camouflaging skin.
You may not use a camouflaging skin that resembles a zombie or a block to hide better.
g) Do not purchase an item that imitates console messages.
You may not purchase an item that cannot clearly be distinguished from a console message at first glance. This includes purchasing an infection message that appears to warn a player or a nickname that appears to show that you are a referee. Items that breach this rule may be removed without a refund.
h) Do not be unreachable as a human without placing blocks.
If you are a human, zombies should be able to infect you without having to place a single block. You are reachable if you can be easily spleefed by a zombie, causing you to fall into a reachable location. You may not attempt to spleef a zombie approaching you if they are taking the only path possible to reach you. If another player destroys the only path, you should fix it yourself. You may not break any blocks that make you unreachable even for a split second. If for some reason you are made unreachable, you must jump down immediately or make yourself reachable again.
i) Do not pillar three or more blocks.
Pillaring is the act of jumping and placing blocks underneath you. You may not pillar three or more blocks, even if you are still reachable. You may not use loopholes to pillar, such as by building two pillars and moving between them. On select maps, pillaring is enabled; you may pillar on these maps.
