What area of New Blood are you suggesting this for?
Forums/ Discord
What is your suggestion and how will it work?
A report that is written by staff every week or every second week on the developments of NB and then uploaded on to forums and the discord. Some examples of what could be in this report: what's new in NB (successful staff trials, accepted maps, new rule changes, any software or dev updates, competition winners, upcoming polls) and there would be a dedicated discord channel made especially for it.
What are the advantages of your suggestion?
Transparency. Players know whats going to happen and feel more included in decisions, players won't be upset if major decisions happen without them
Excitement. Players getting news about developments in game will create some enthusiasm for NB
Experience & awareness. Staff will be able to learn about how to compile reports, and there would be a fundamental level of commitment, understanding, and dedication required from all staff.
What are the disadvantages of your suggestion?
It will require some effort from staff, but there are enough people on the staff team that it should be a light enough workload

A periodic New Blood newsletter-style report is an interesting idea, however I believe that there isn't enough change on a weekly basis to warrant a weekly or even fortnightly report.
Depending on my activity in the coming year I'm hoping to implement some sort of seasonal map rotation so that we can bring back good old maps and people aren't playing the same 150-200 or so maps over and over again for the next year. The announcement of each rotation could certainly serve as a newsletter for other server updates too.
At the moment though, major changes are announced on the forum and over Discord (cf the new Map Build ranking system and the new map categorisation system) which I think is sufficient, given the number of changes that actually happen.
