What area of New Blood are you suggesting this for?
Map Build.
What is your suggestion and how will it work?
My suggestion is to increase the play time required to apply for Techie. Seriously though, anyone can just join, have good behaviour, rank up to Mason, play for 12h, apply and get Techie. Then they can abuse because it's literally two weeks and 12 hours. So I think that it should be at least 2 days with mason and 4 days without it, just like ZS and ZombieGod (I think it was ZombieGod), so that there is at least a little less abuse and more trust.
What are the advantages of your suggestion?
People will be less likely to abuse as they spent more time and dedication on Map Build.
What are the disadvantages of your suggestion?
Other than the fact that people can still abuse their rank, I feel like there aren't more disadvantages.
When deciding on an application, the administration team takes trust and potential abuse very seriously. They make sure that the applicant has atleast some community/staff support, to not blindly trust a person and lead to abuse. I don't think this is completely necessary, as people don't apply for the rank very often, especially people new to the server (which usually aren't even aware of rank applications). Also, since the staff team has recently increased in size, applicants that the admins are uncertain about could spend a week on trial to evaluate if they can handle the role and not abuse their new permissions. So all in all, this change isn't really necessary until noticeably more people start applying for a staff position.
This is something that has long been debated. While the admin team consider each application carefully before accepting, the playtime of a player is also taken into account. Naturally, the more one plays, the more dedication they have or appear to have shown to the server and the community.
Any other comments on this? Do you think this would help us maintain a good standard of staff?
