Server Rules | Discord
You must follow these rules if you want to talk on the Discord server. Staff may hand out punishments if you break any of these rules. Please refer to the Player Punishment Structure for an idea of the punishments that may be handed out.
Rule 1 | Do not evade punishments or encourage rule-breaking.
a) Do not evade punishments.
If you are banned from the Discord server, you may not log on another account to get around the ban and you should instead appeal your ban in the appropriate area of the forum. You may not complain about your ban in another area of the New Blood community. This extends to mutes. If you feel that you have been punished unfairly, you should privately message the member of staff on Discord. If your account is banned specifically for having an inappropriate name, you are allowed to log on another account if it has a legal name.
b) Do not encourage others to break rules.
You may not encourage others to break rules. This includes, but is not limited to, knowing of a player evading their ban and not alerting a member of staff, egging on a player to argue with staff, or encouraging someone to abuse a bug in-game.
c) Do not troll.
You may not troll. This includes, but is not limited to, making fake reports or fake accusations as it is a waste of time for staff.
d) Do not use an unrecognisable name to hide your identity.
You may not have both a nickname and tag that is significantly different from your in-game name to hide your in-game identity, unless you are widely known by another name (for example your real name).
e) Do not impersonate others.
You may not impersonate other players. This includes, but is not limited to, using a nickname that is strongly associated with another player.
f) Do not manipulate others into giving out personal information, particularly younger members of the community.
You may not manipulate others into giving out personal information, such as name, address and phone number. You are advised to practice internet safety and avoid giving out personal information. You may not take advantage of the younger or other vulnerable members of the community.
Rule 2 | Do not spam, harass or use inappropriate language.
a) Do not excessively swear, spam or use uppercase letters.
You may swear, but not excessively. You may not spam or use uppercase letters excessively in any text channel except for #spam. Staff will decide if you are breaching this rule but a definition of excessive can be found here.
b) Do not post malicious links or video call links.
You may not post links to websites that present a security risk or that may attack, scam or fraud. This includes IP grabbing links, link shorteners, and links that appear unsafe although actually safe. You may not post video call links such as those of Zoom. This is in order to protect the younger members of the community.
c) Do not harass a person or group, or use discriminatory language.
You may not harass any person or group in any text channel. You may not use slurs in any context, or use language that is considered to be discriminatory. This includes, but is not limited to, being racist, xenophobic or homophobic. This extends to names, profile pictures and statuses.
d) Do not discuss sensitive topics or post NSFW content.
You may not discuss sensitive subjects such as, but not limited to, sexual abuse, extreme drug abuse and suicide. You may not post content that is considered inappropriate or 'not safe for work', for example content that is pornographic, violent, gruesome, or requires a trigger warning. You may not reference these topics in names, profile pictures or statuses. Items that breach this rule may be removed without a refund. You may discuss politics and religion respectfully, however staff may intervene if the discussion gets out of hand.
Rule 3 | Do not misuse channels.
a) Do not use channels for their unintended purposes.
You may not use channels for purposes other than those stated in #welcome.
b) Do not exploit bugs.
If you are able to view or use a channel that you think that you shouldn’t be able to, you should alert a member of staff immediately. Permissions that players do not have include, but are not limited to, viewing staff channels, sending messages in #welcome, #news and #forum-updates, and managing messages.
Rule 4 | Do not be unpleasant in voice channels.
a) Do not join voice channels with poor sound input quality.
You may not join voice channels with poor sound input quality. This includes, but is not limited to, having significant background noise or feedback. You should use headphones, earphones or a similar device if possible.
b) Do not be excessively loud in voice channels.
You may not be excessively loud in voice channels. This includes, but is not limited to, continuously shouting or screaming. If you have a high microphone sensitivity, you should lower it to an acceptable level.
c) Do not join and leave voice channels repeatedly.
You may not join and leave voice channels repeatedly. The sound generated when you join or leave a voice channel may interfere with conversations.
