What makes your map stand out from other maps?
The idea for this is to finally have a small spleef map that works for 4v4. It's optimised for tournament use.
The lava is set to 0.25 speed. Under 2 layers of lava blocks, there is hot_lava, which makes you respawn. So you have to slowly sink through the lava (5 seconds) before you respawn. This has multiple purposes:
- There is no abuse of respawn, if you fall in the lava, zombies can jump on top of you, and you're dead.
- There is no need for a hotspawn blocking zombie.
- Zombies who get spleefed are out of play for 5 seconds before they respawn, which makes spleefing zombies rewarding for humans despite the small map size
On ZS, this map is designed for 2-10 players, so about our current regular player count. The spleef + respawn delay mechanic make it work.
For 4v4 tournaments, this is the only playable map that allows the humans to be threats for the zombies. If the human team manages to spleef a zombie, that zombie is out of play for 5 seconds, which means less pressure for humans and valuable time lost for the zombie team.
