What name do you want your map to be called if accepted?
minesweeper
What name is your map called currently on Map Build?
legospaceguy13
What round time do you want your map to have (minimum is 3 minutes and maximum is 10 minutes)?
For once I do know, 4 minutes. This round time was advised by newplayer1337 because it balances out the less vertical movement of the map.
What category is your map in on the current map list?
Small Open
What makes your map stand out from other maps?
This is the updated and refined version of Winmines, taking feedback we received and remaking the map from scratch.
As before, the map is inspired by the hit 90s game Minesweeper for Windows OS, featuring a custom texture pack inspired by the “winmines” edition of the game. The gameplay itself attempts to mimic this as best as possible, with the mines teleporting you back to spawn as if you stepped on a landmine.
The difference between the last map submission and this one is as follows: This map features mines that are able to be jumped over, and according to gymnast champion Zingan you can jump over two mines at once. This greatly increases mobility on the map and makes the mines less frustrating. The mines themselves no longer take up a block, and are instead thin slabs with a gap on each of the four sides. If you have a lot of control over your player movement, it is possible to weave extremely close to the mines.
Furthermore the map is also a lot more diverse, featuring pillars, mounds and holes to give more varied gameplay and incentivise the player to go from one side to the other. There is also no hardcore parkour in the sky, making it fairer for the zombies to reach the humans, but due to the size of the map and lower roundtime, this balances out and gives it a prohuman advantage.
I have also removed the two dev secrets featured on the last iteration of the map, and Zingan has illustrated walls with 90s retro art.
