What area of New Blood are you suggesting this for?
Mapbuild
What is your suggestion and how will it work?
Have default mc galaxy running on mb so when ZS goes down we can go over there and do /zs go. (And yes default zs is fine with like 10 premade maps, no need to overcomplicate this as its just a kick back from when zs breaks)
What are the advantages of your suggestion?
A place to go when the main server breaks
What are the disadvantages of your suggestion?
Would be primitive ZS (nobody would care honestly as its not even the main server. nobody would play it when the main server is working)
While I can see why you'd think having a stripped-down version of ZS on MB may be useful, you have to consider that ZS barely goes down without an announcement beforehand. Today was an exception, but, in my opinion, not one big enough to warrant having to spend effort to make a "backup" gamemode on MB.
There are other things to consider, such as the fact that players would rather just not play anything than play a stripped-down version of ZS. Some of the reasons/disadvantages include:
• Map Build has no economy: no real reason to play if you want to earn money or XP;
• Ping on Map Build will be higher, due to it not using the BetterPing plugin ZS (presumably) does;
• Positions are updated every 100 milliseconds - this is significantly higher than Zombie Survival, and will lead to players seeing other players move in an unpleasant way.
But, who knows. If it doesn't require too much effort, admins and developers might put together something like that. But I still hold my opinion that the playerbase is so small that almost nobody would play, and that cases in which this backup gamemode would have to be started up are extremely rare.
It would hardly take any effort since zs is already built into mcgalaxy and there's already a lot of maps. It would be running full time so no reason for an admin to start it up. Whenever zs goes down as people will just migrate. If default zs as a backup isn't good enough for others, when the main server is down, then that's their problem. There's plenty of casuals that still want to hangout to pass the time. Nobody is going to get too bent out of shape from a backup zs mode that's not on par with the main server.
There is no reason to run a worse ZS version on MB which only comes with extra issues. The Zombie Survival server very rarely goes down, and when it does, it's most likely a quick update. It's really just not worth it when you can just wait the short time the server's down.
