New Blood Zombie Survival 1.1
The Experience Update
This update to Zombie Survival is one of the biggest yet! Fam0r has worked tirelessly over the past few weeks to give you an XP system with unlockable commands when you level up! Read on to find out everything that’s been added.
XP
The man of the match, the belle of the ball... this what the update is all about! Each player will be given an initial XP value, determined using your past stats! We have used the formula below:
Initial XP = Rounds Survived × 10 + Humans Infected
XP values are categorised into XP levels. Your level will appear as a number next to your name!
XP can be earned via two main methods: surviving a round, and infecting a human. Here is a list of the exact XP values that you will gain:
Surviving a round: 10 XP
+ 1 XP for every additional 5 zombies on the server
Surviving into the last minute of a round: 5 XP
Infecting a human: 1 XP
Infecting an invisible human: 2 XP
Bloodbag gain will be the same, so when you survive a round, or infect a human, you will gain both bloodbags and XP!
Because XP cannot be gained via alternative methods, such as likes and dislikes, lotteries, bounties, TrueBlood challenges and map submissions, it will truly be representative of your experience.
Levels
When you have enough XP, you will automatically level up! You’ll know when you’ve levelled up because the server will display the following message:
If you want to know the exact XP level thresholds and what commands can be unlocked at what level, open the spoiler. It’s a long list! We have used a system suggested by Venk: the difference between levels is 50 until 100 XP, 100 until 1000 XP, and then increases by 250 every 10 levels. Above Level 100, the level difference is fixed at 2500 XP.
If you currently have an item that you would otherwise not have access to in this new XP system, for instance a title, you can keep it! But beware, if you remove it, you can’t get it back until you reach the right level!
We hope that this levelling system will encourage everyone, especially those who have reached the top rank of TrueBlood, to continue grinding!
Ranks
Player ranks have been abolished! This means that you no longer have to buy ranks, and instead you will level up when you earn enough XP.
/ranks
Who’s the fifth admin? o.O
But what about all the bloodbags I’ve spent on ranks, I hear you ask? Never fear, for we are refunding all bloodbags that you have spent on ranks. If you were a ZombiePro, you’ll be refunded 1000 bloodbags. If you were a ZombieGod, you’ll be refunded 1500 bloodbags. And if you were a TrueBlood, you’ll be refunded a whopping 6500 bloodbags!
This also means that players can’t skip ranks simply by becoming a member of staff! Staff and players are now placed on a level playing field.
Store
Because bloodbags are no longer used to buy ranks, we’ve placed more focus on bloodbag spending by making nickname changes cost 250 bloodbags. Don’t worry though, because if you were a TrueBlood, you’ll have received 6500 bloodbags which is worth 26 nickname changes!
We’ve also raised the block limit for zombies to 50, which is the same as it is for humans! We think that this will be fairer for zombies on buildable maps. Keep in mind that the unreachable rule still applies!
Title colour has been removed from the store, as you can simply use colour codes when you buy titles.
Profile
We’ve revamped player profiles in /whois to make it more aesthetic. See the screenshots!

Help
We’ve overhauled /help, so that it actually helps you!
We thought that the $play token was quite spammy, so in its place we’ve introduced two new commands, /play and /xp. /play will summarise the game for new players, whilst /xp will tell you how much XP you need before you level up, and what will be unlocked when you next level up.

Colours
We’ve introduced what we think is a more pleasant colour scheme, namely we've changed the default system message colour from teal to grey, making it consistent with our new /help, /play and /xp messages. We've also adopted a colour scheme for bloodbag and XP gain messages.
Future Developments
We’re looking to set up daily, weekly or monthly XP leaderboards in the future, which will give XP even greater significance! Perhaps those who top the leaderboards may even be rewarded…
A little birdie also told me that we have another massive feature approaching this summer… I guess we’ll have to wait to find out!
We hope that you love the update, and if there are any changes that you’d like to see, let us know! My thanks go to Fam0r, the staff team, and the focus group for taking the time to iron out the details of this update. It’s been a pleasure to work on this update and we hope it’s a fitting end to what’s been a spectacular anniversary week!
